Look of the Week: The Chloe Top

Look of the Week

This is about Lisa. And her secret garden. She keeps all her secrets there. Among the hidden treasure, we are glad we found this one.

With spring giving way to the warm summer days, the best way to keep fresh through the day is wear something which is comfortable and easy in style. Wear the Chloe Top with basic denims, high heels and out-0f-the-bed hair and you are set for a flirtatious Summer Statement.

With bright red nails, Lisa instantly gets in the Summer mood.
#Insider Fashion Tip: A statement necklace, red lips and killer heels transforms your day look to a night one in 5 minutes.

Story of the Week : London 2012 Olympic Torch wins Design of the Year

So, we hear (and are extremely excited to say) that the London 2012 Olympic Torch won the award for the Design of the Year.

Jay Osgerby and Edward Barber, Barber Osgerby Design Studio

An excerpt from designoftheyear.com “British design studio Barber Osgerby has won the Design of the Year 2012 for its stunning design of the London 2012 Olympic Torch. The overall winner was chosen from 89 entries to claim the winning title. The award, designed by Swarovski was presented by Anya Hindmarch at the awards ceremony held at the Design Museum last night (24th April 2012).”

The London Olympic Torch

The golden London 2012 Olympic Torch has 8000 small holes in two aluminium skins that are bent around and welded together to form a tapering cone. Each hole represents one of the runners who will carry the flame around the UK on a relay that will take for 8,000 miles.

p.s One of the top designs in the competition was the Duchess of Cambridge’s Wedding Dress designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.

Off the Field

We are mostly used to seeing them playing on the field and we must admit we like them best in their uniforms. However, we got a little curious and wanted to see how they are without the bat and the ball. These are some of our favorite cricket stars quite off the field.

1. Rahul Dravid 2. Yuvraj Singh 3. Ricky Ponting 4. Sachin Tendulkar 5. Alastair Cook 6. Michael Clarke 7. Mitchell Johnson 8. Shahid Afridi 9. Virat Kohli.

Blocking it Right

This fashion year is full of surprises. With retro-chic coming back and minimalist fashion as the new favourite among many, the season has seen a lot of trend clashes. In this  mixed bundle of prints and colours and stories there is one trend that really caught our eye.

We recently found this picture of Pippa Middleton and love her carefully carefree “Street-Style”

Pippa Middleton

Like we said earlier, Colour Blocking is catching up – even so more with the celebrities, we see.

Pippa Middleton, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Emmy Rossum, Emily Blunt, Freida Pinto

Easy silhouette with a statement dress paired with bright accessories says Summer which is chic, stylish and right on trend. We think Alice and Mimi will really do the trick.

On the Cover

The Summer season is at its bloom. With fresh clear sky and the sun high up in the sky, we decided it’s time we brush-up on the season’s trends. And what better place than the fashion covers to give us the highlights of the season! Taking inspiration from our current reads, we have with us, the best of fashion-decoded for the season.

 Flower Power

Harper’s Bazaar Russia, Vogue Korea, ELLE Italy, Harper’s Bazaar Australia

It’s no surprise to see this one. The SS’12 runway shows were full of floral inspirations. It was only practical that the fashion editors put this as one of the trends for Spring Summer 2012

Divine Whites

Harper’s Bazaar Russia, Vogue Russia, Vogue Paris, ELLE USA

The ivory shades are fresh, pure and ever-so-chic. Can’t live without this one.

Riding Red

Harper's Bazaar Czech, Vogue Portugal, Vogue USA, ELLE India

Somewhere we still live in the fairytale world- and we believe that Red Riding Hood would be the modern “Lady in Red” today. This one’s for her.

Exotic Prints

ELLE Spain,ELLE Mexico, Vogue Australia, Vogue Mexico

Like we said, trends are really going global. The ethnic prints from around the world make for a striking colour clash in the wardrobe.

Pastel Palette

Vogue UK, ELLE Russia, Vogue UK, Harper's Bazaar Autralia

The modern girl look, the sorbet candy colours and the retro silhouettes to go with –  we are hoping this one stays here for many fashion seasons to come.

The Secret Garden: The Venue

One April morning, we woke up early to reach this location we had reserved for the Lisa shoot. Between sips of coffee and setting up the camera and the makeup kit, Lisa walked in and exclaimed, “This reminds me of the Secret Garden!”

Gentle arches, soft curves, large glass windows, labyrinths and slanting sunlight, white gravel, entwining branches, withered leaves and canopies of trees. And against this soft whiteness, the new Summer Lisa ♥s Sher Singh collection.

An Indian Summer

Imagine you went to Africa, took a stop in Paris, went on a subway in NYC and had dinner reservations in India.

Fashion always takes unexpected turns. And this time, the celebrities around the world have brought ethnic prints to life. Ikat prints, tribal inspired colours and silhouettes, and traditional beaded accessories have made a huge comeback.

It’s about going global while sitting comfortably on your sofa and making a bold fashion statement with ethnic inspired clothing and accessories from around the world.

We have Sheryl, Viola, Helen, Daphne, Eva, Ashlee & others for the complete Style Update.

Little Men

They have made us proud, instilling in us, time and again, a great love for the game. We take inspiration from these teens and toddlers who’ve grown up to win our hearts. And we also take this opportunity to wish the handsome Sachin Tendulkar a very happy birthday.

  1. Cheeku, Virat Kohli
  2. Dada, Sourav Ganguly
  3. Mr. Dependable, Rahul Dravid
  4. Mahi, Mahendra Singh Dhoni
  5. Veeru, Virender Sehwag
  6. The Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar

Our Sher Singh Kids collection is here to give your little guy his own Cricket statement. After all, he is the future ‘Man of the Match’.
