For the Love of the Game

Whether it be the World Cup, the IPL or a match in the neighbouring street, we’ve all been moved, literally, by the drama of the bat and the ball. How do you love your game?

The Dance Moves

With summer (read: beaches and carnivals) upon us, we thought it’s the best time to round up our favourite songs which make us groove to their beats – no matter where we are, or how old we get.

  • Thriller by Michael Jackson
Remember Jenna Rink from 13 Going on 30 dancing to Thriller where the “2004” generation is suddenly pulled 30 years back to a time when Michael Jackson was the only Pop Music God.

  • Single ladies (put a ring on it) by Beyoncé
Who can forget the Saturday Night Live promotion for Beyoncé’s album with Justin Timberlake strutting around in high heels wearing a body suit!

  • Macarena by Los Del Rio
The Billboard’s #1 dance song from the modern rock era was recently ranked the song at #10 on the list of the 100 Worst Songs Ever by AOL Radio, while giving out an order: “First: Place your arm straight out in front of you at shoulder height, palm facing down. Then: Punch the DJ.”

  • The Ketchup Song by Las Ketchup
The Ketchup song from 2002 did what the Macarena song had done back in the 90’s. Taking the lyrics from an old school rap classic, the Spanish sisters captivated the dance floors around world with their song and the dance moves creating an international dance craze.

  • 5,6,7,8 by Steps
The beach, the beachside bar and hot girls (and guys) in coordinating outfits dancing while driving heavy cars and performing on stage. That’s a craze, alright!
